Dabbling in film

By far, theater design was the most fun section in the design rotation. My group and I were inspired by the figures we cut out on the wall, and how they interacted with each other. We decided to make a short film titled “THE REVENGE”. The story was about a jealous ex girlfriend who decided to ruin her ex boyfriend’s date by attacking her ex and his new girlfriend. The ex girlfriend is then arrested by a suspiciously cheeked up cop. We chose to express our film with a cardboard theatre with cardboard puppets held up by wire. It was so incredibly fun to work with my team mates to create the set, the props, the characters, and finally bringing them to life on the stage. While our film was really short and simple, it got some laughs out of us, and we really enjoyed the final outcome. A lot of good energy was produced in the studio today. I was originally a little stressed because I didn’t think we’d be able to finish on time, but we ended up finishing earlier than we expected. When working with a large group, I learned that it is very important to have strong communication, and to also make compromises. Luckily, everyone had mostly similar ideas, and everyone got to contribute. My group members definitely brought good ideas with them to the table that definitely heightened the quality and nature of the props. I have a tendency to take control a lot of the time, but I took everything pretty chill this time.
